Bali: Kuta Beach & Sanur

On October 25th, 2016, me and my colleague had the opportunities to visit Bali. The purpose of the trip was to attend the 2nd Indonesia Conference on Clinical Pharmacy, 2016. The event was supported by three of the top listed university in Indonesia. I’m so glad that I could join the meeting because not only we could learn new things from the conference but also we got a short-“holiday”-gateway during our working days that fully covered by our company.

We took flight from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) using Citilink. We booked a flight for 04.40 p.m, however, it was changed by the Citilink to an earlier flight at 12.40 p.m. Not complaining because that means arrived in Denpasar quicker. Just a quick reminder, Citilink’s doesn’t include with the meal during the flight when you purchased your ticket, and you need to add an order or buy it by yourself during the flight. Like us, we decided to buy KFC for our lunch.

Flight to Bali took about 1 hour and 40 minutes. We arrived at Ngurah Rai around 3.30 p.m. Because there are 13 of us, we decided to rent a minivan with a driver to took us strolling Bali before drive us to the hotel. It cost about 800K IDR. Our first stop was Kuta Beach as we wanted to see the sunset without spending so much money like in Jimbaran. Kuta Beach, also known as Sunset Beach, is very famous within local and international tourist since the 70’s maybe. As for me it just a very ordinary beach, where you could swim, surf, sunbathing, or anything you could do on the beach. You might find someone walking his dog on the beach also. However this time, I had so much fun with my friends by taking many pictures for them until we forgot about the sunset after all.

For dinner we decided to have Nasi Kedewatan Ibu Mangku in Denpasar before we head back to the hotel. The restaurant only served one menu Nasi Ayam (30K IDR), and it is halal. You could enjoy the feel of nature while sitting on the Saung which surrounded by the fish pond.

Astana Pengembak Suite Apartment and Villa was our choice to spend the night. As it was an apartment hotel, you’ll find yourself staying in a one bedroom room with a kitchen. We amazed with the size of the room and you only paid for 550K IDR per night. They also have a swimming pool located on the first floor which open from 08.00 a.m to  08.00 p.m, but on our first night, we swam after the opening hour and that alright.

The conference we attend is a two-day conference which took place on Prama Sanur Beach Bali. To go there, we ordered grab-car or GoCar to took us to our destination. We only paid 15K for 6-7 people. Anyway, if your order an online transportation in Bali, you should see the area because some didn’t permit their operation. During the break or lunch, we had the opportunities to stroll around the hotel. Prama is a five-stars hotel that provides many facilities and direct access to Sanur Beach. For a family vacation, this might be one of choice. For me, I was enjoying myself find a duck and squirrel while sitting in the park.

Culinary while in Kuta & Sanur
